To address root causes of current and chronic public health and safety disturbances, Community Networks facilitate reviews of locally established patterns of engagement and distribution; social and organizational frameworks and functions; community norms, assumptions and expectations; and shared values. Tens of thousands of Washington residents and professionals assemble Community Public Health and Safety Networks in diverse communities including rural and remote, urban and suburban, islands, Tribal reservations and a Tribal consortium, and timber and tourist economies. In these places people give careful thought to how the current economic and social conditions affect local family safety, health, recovery and prosperity. Ideas, observations and research are woven together to form a cohesive strategy that everyone takes part in. Community Networks self-organize communication, collaboration, policy development and advocacy independently and through the Transition Team.
